May we talk features while we are waiting?

Hope this won't disturb anyone but until someone comes up with some verifiable news I'd like to ask a feature question (perhaps two or three ) about the display. How does the display compare to the iPhone Retina, Samsung AMOLED, or DroidX. Can it be seen in direct or indirect sunlight? I have seen a DroidX equipped with an anti-glare screen protector with good color saturation and brightness on a bright cloudless day. While you are mulling that over, does anyone have incontrovertible info that the TB will hit the shelves with Mobile Hotspot enabled? Be gentle

I just called BB and asked when they would have it... they have always been somewhat 'hush hush' and have always said 'tenatively' and he said that they HAVE given them a release/street date of the 24th and that I can come in to lick it up then... this was the manager of the mobile dep't as well... I know a lot of you aren't putting much stock into what BB has to say and I felt the same way after having to wait past the 14th but they seemed unsure - he flat out announced it. Everything really seems to be pointing to the 24th!

Cool if they are giving a date... I like it...

VZW has said to me the 24th is the day.. last night i got a gtalk that said the 28th may happen now but now official word...

as for the data dn voice over 3g..it's the bolt only for now.. no older devices will be able to do this (as far s I know) and it's certainly an unadvertised thing.

Pre 2 was just announced last Tuesday and released on Thursday. I think this Tuesday is the last day we can expect and announcement for a 24th release of the tbolt.

If it's a supply issue then I don't understand the 28th as a possible date. If the first round of shipments are already on the way for the 24th, then why not just release on the 24th and if you sell out then you know another round is coming on the 28th. If anything, a sell out give good press for vzw and if demand is met in 4 days then they haven't pissed off many people like they would if it took a month as it did for the dinc and x.

Not for such a high-profile launch. Unless you have some inside knowledge otherwise, I would highly doubt they release without letting people know it's coming.

even with a phone this big? or do you think its a marketing campaign? cause i think they could sell more iphones and a phone like the TB can build its own hype(being post #3xxx goes to show that.) while they sell some more iphones.

Oh they said it @ CES....... as far as ads go... we'll see as the week moves on....

Maybe during the 500 tomorrow we will see an ad or two.... no guarntee but maybe

Og droid, droid incredible, droid x, droid 2, Iphone, pre2... all had press releases with specific dates come out 2 days to a few weeks before the launch. The only silent launch was the droid2 global which was just a d2 with a sim card. Trust me, I checked... i'm that obsessed with this launch.

Maybe I'll need to watch the 500 tomorrow...
