damn, it would be cheaper to add a third line for 10 bucks a month and pay the 300 initial cost.

That's what im doing. They said I could activate a new line and put a cheapo phone on that line and use the upgrade for my current line. Extra $10 a month for one year is only $120 and I'll get an extra upgrade whenever I need it later on down the road

By the way, at&t officially announced March 6 as the Atrix release date a long time ago, and all indications point it being available next week for those who pre-ordered.... like me.

The TB delay is all about the iPhone - Vz will milk that as long as possible because the truth is, you Droiders are now a secondary priority. Yeah, I'm stuck on a lousy network, but LTE wouldn't be near me anytime soon anyway. AT&T just kept a customer for at least another 2 years and that's based on both being up front with its customers on the Atrix release date, pricing it reasonably at $199 and finally giving Android a seriously look now that they have some serious iPhone competition.

This delay clearly has nothing to do with exploding phones and Chinese labor - the phones are out there, available and ready to deploy. Verizon is dangling it in front of your faces because people more likely to switch from another provider will do it for the iPhone, not the TB, and they don't want to market two big ticket phones at the same time.

You can be a Verizon apologist all you want, at&t simply won my business for being up front about it's latest Android device. Good luck with Verizon...

That's ridiculous. AT&T isn't being "up front", they're being desperate.

Good luck with tiered data.

I paid $99 for the phone as a premier customer, get to keep my unlimited data plan and didn't have to pay for tethering.

There's a lot of misinformation going around about the Atrix since all the reviews are focusing on the overpriced laptop dock gimmick. But it is a gimmick, it is overpriced, and I'm just here for the phone. With poor Verizon network support where I live, the choice is easy - I know I'll have the Atrix by a certain date, I paid less for it than I would for the TB, and I have unlimited data and wasn't forced to buy tethering.

I can't argue with coverage vs no coverage. Sorry for being harsh. Enjoy your Atrix, make sure to test out the TB and compare the two.

I don't recall seeing this one posted here yet. If it has I apologize.

Thanks for video.

I hope the kickstand won't be a problem and not be getting hung up on material when taking in and out of pocket.

I doubt it. There are 3 EVOs in my house (oh, the ENVY!) and after 8 months their kickstands still make a satisfying SNAP when retracted. There is NO play in them and they sit flush, thus it's almost impossible for them to snag on anything. Furthermore, a case recesses them enough that it becomes completely impossible.

I am no VZW apologist. I'm in Chicago, in several parts of the metro area 3G drops to EDGE for no apparent reason. AT&T's network SUCKS. I have yet to drop a call on VZW and I have had them since Nov 7 2009.

When I made my post, my AT&T corporate account manager had NO details on availability of the Atrix, yes that has changed NOW but when I made that post there was no information available.

Good luck with AT&T, good luck with a top tier of 4GB max for $45 a month. Have fun. Don't let the door hit you in the rear on your way out of the forums.

I cannot believe that any sane and logical person would jump carriers over not knowing exactly when a new phone will be available. MAybe it is the iPhone, who really cares? For 4 years VZW customers complained that the iPhone was only available on AT&T and not VZW. Many iPhone customers also complained that they were stuck on AT&T and had no choice in the US. Do *I* care about the iPhone? No. But good heavens, let VZW push the iPhone for a couple weeks. There was obviously a lot of effort put into this release, give them their 14 days to recoup some of the costs of 4 years of negotiations.

Everyone hates it when I suggest this but it's looking like BB may sell it a few days before vzw. Look at the evidence: 1) a BB ad for this Sunday, the 20th, say new and not "coming feb 2x"; and 2) a leaked shipping invoice for a vzw store has a delivery date for the 23rd.

I don't understand why everyone thinks this is so impossible. It's not like people who buy phones at BB aren't going to still be paying gigantic monthly bills to vzw.
The reason I don't think that's possible is because if BB sells it first, regardless, it means the Thunderbolt is officially released and available. People will then flock to VZW stores and flood their call centers/website trying to get it, and will have to be told "Sorry you have to go to Best Buy to get it." Even if it's only for a few days, that makes horrible business sense for VZW to do that. But, I will grant you, nothing surrounding this phone's release would surprise me so you might be right after all, who knows? Maybe VZW doesn't care, and who ever gets it first can sell it first, but that doesn't sound like the VZW that I know.

I agree that anything is really fair game now, haha. I'll stick with my gut though. I really don't think the first 4G phone wouldn't be available online or in vzw stores, yet at Best Buy. Previous poster makes a good point about people who would try to buy from vzw.
