but generally I'd suggest that iphone users tend to be less technically informed and more driven to hysteria over a marketing phenomenon. I don't have data for that conclusion, other than anectotal evidence of some who chose the iphone "becauses its cool" without knowing any of the technical detail.

Flame on....

I guess Verizon didn't have a 100 million dollar ad campaign for the Droid line... cmon man, your post is dripping with Fandroidism...

Read some reviews of people in the Android Market and then tell me that Android users are more "technically informed". They rate down live wallpapers because an app doesn't appear in the drawer!!! So much smarter than iOS users.

I think you let android forums sway your opinion while ignoring that there are easily twice as many iOS forums with MILLIONS more users. Seriously, go to google and search for iPhone forums, and read their posts. They don't bash android users like you do them, and they know their *stuff*.

They sold a lot of Droids at $300 - a $100 rebate for a 2 year contract. Not much different between that and $350 - $140 for a 2 year contract.

Can't remember where i read it, but Verizon wasn't going to use Mail-in Rebates anymore. [soapbox]If they do sell the phone for 350, Verizon can have a giant pile of suck it. AT&T has there own version of the Thunderbolt/Evo for only 150 w/ 2year contract. it may only have 1/2 the Ram and only an 8GB SD card, but i'll just hold out and switch to AT&T or Sprint if Verizon keeps on handling their contract phones like this.[/soapbox]

My point really was that they are two different customer bases... sort of like Pepsi and Coke... some people may cross over from time to time, but essentially you are in one camp or the other. Since I like Android I deem it to be Coke and the iPhone to be Pepsi!!!

Im okay with that. Although technically, Nokia is Coke, and Android is Pepsi. Nokia did announce a new formula this week, and that will probably go over about as well as New Coke did. Android will be coke soon.

I guess I haven't missed much since last night. IF it launches tomorrow those who pre-ordered with Best Buy will get phone calls (probably not going to happen), but it should appear in Sunday's ad, which means (and ties into Peter Chou's comment) it will go on sale this Sunday for Best Buy. At this point I just don't care I wanted to get the phone out, in my hands and over with.

Hey now, I'm Android all the way but I like Pepsi much better than Coke, unless it's Cherry Coke. I love Cherry Coke:)

From that same guy from the earylier post from bestbuy. This Sunday!

Sent from my Droid using DroidForums App

My theory is that most people are stupid in general. IOS has more stupid people because its more popular right now and is built more for the technologically impaired. I'm not elitist at all. That doesn't make it worse though. A locked down app store, little user customization, and no hardware choice is a more effective case against IOS. (Note to Motorola: locking down installing apps apart from the Android market will be your downfall.) Also, LG<Motoblur<HTCSense<vanilla android.

usually if an item is delayed best buy will put "available xxx" under the item.

Who said it is going to launch tomorrow? I read that somewhere in this thread.
