HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

I just called 3 Verizon stores in my area and all of them said they have no idea when the Thunderbolt is going to be released. I then called the Best Buy I pre-ordered from and the guy there said they "think" it's going to be sometime around the 24th. This is so frustrating!!
 
To everybody that preordered at BB... did you get something in "writing" that said you could come pick up the phone on 2/14? Or did they "say" you could. Hard to prove damages unless you have a written (i.e. contract) agreement between them and you that they would deliver on 2/14. I'm just sayin...
 
Called 2 Best Buys in my area, the one I actually pre-ordered from told me they'd call me back (ugh) - second one said they never should have told me 2/14 that there is no release date available.
 
I was told they would go through the list of people and call them to set up an appointment depending upon how many they got in and where you are on the list. I'm pretty sure I'm almost at the top of the list considering my location and when I pre-ordered. I doubt they will call exactly when they open, If I don't hear anything by lunch I will be giving them a call though. gl to you guys too
 
I called my best buy and asked about the best time for me to come pick up my Thunderbolt...I said "I was told it will be in and ready for me to pick up today, and Im just looking to drive up there on my lunch break. When would be best?"

he said...

Sorry not until the 24th. We will call you the day before to let you know that you can come and get it.
 
I hope we get some info soon. My Storm2 keeps coming up with SIM card error now constantly. If I pull the battery I get about 30 mins maybe then it comes back. Ugh...
 
Called my Best Buy once a day from 2/9 - 2/13. Last night I called and they told me today. Called Best Buy this morning and apparently they haven't received the word on the 24th release date because he said, "The phone is suppose to launch today. We have everything set up and ready to go but our inventory says ZERO PHONES".... My Best Buys is as lost as I am so looks like the 24th. There's no reports anywhere (not even on twitter) of a person picking their Thunderbolt up from Best Buy this morning and having a device in hand..... HTC, VZW, BEST BUY = FAIL of my day.
 
I'm sorry, but I really gotta laugh at the people who were just sooo sure they were getting the Tbolt today...

I'm not really sure you can blame Verizon for the launch, they never said the 14th, blame the blogs and such, and blame yourself for believing it was true, also have a case to be pissed at BB
 
Yeah, I agree. Im not sure why anyone is upset about the bolt not being released today. Well, actually I think HTC should be pretty pissed because now that I am seeing all these great devices at mwc, I am thinking seriously about waiting. Cant imagine that I am alone.
 
I'm not upset that it didn't launch today, just hoping for a solid date for release. If it doesn't hit soon I may give in to the iPhone due to the fact I need a functioning phone now...

Ugh...
