HTC Thunderbolt Release Date

Verizon screwed up two different ways. Android phones outnumber Symbian and IOS phones now. But they pushed out iPhone before the TB? CNBC reports significantly shorter lines at Verizon stores than expected. 20 at one store in Cali. So they sold a few thousand?

To the point, is Verizon forced to ship the TB asap to make their quarterly numbers? Good for us to be sure. If not, stock will tumble after earnings report or sooner when the Street smells blood. Hopefully Verizon realizes the releasing the TB sooner will create sales that more than offset the returns of iPhones.

Really really want to get a TB and I have been a committed Windows Smartphone user ever since they shipped.

This. Nobody won today with the sub-par turnout. Apple lost, Verizon lost, "we" lost, and the biggest loser of all may be HTC. When MWC starts on Monday without a release date for the Thunderbolt and everyone sees all of the goodness that's a couple of months away, a lot of people may jump off of the Thunderbolt bandwagon before it even starts moving.

yeah all this crap has me thinking twice...

wishful thinking.haha.the guy at best buy told me that whenever they get the phone, i get a call.surely the phone will be shipped to bb before the 24th

People have been saying that BB already has the actual phones so I don't think that what you're saying is completely impossible. I was hoping there was a little something behind it but I will think wishfully right by you.

Not me, and not a ton of other people in here too, I'm sure. I've already been waiting 3-4 months for this phone to come out, I'm not going to wait another couple. What else do you think is coming out in a few months, this "goodness" you speak of? I don't really expect any surprises at MWC. Besides the Bionic, the only other phones we know of are the Samsung Stealth (eww, Sammy, ugly and no updates), LG Revolution (unproven in the flagship smartphone arena, would be better if it were dual core, and its thick), HTC Incredible 2 (smaller and not as capable as TB), and Motorola Droid X2 and D3. I'll still take my ThunderBolt over all of them any day, and it could be anywhere from 3-6 months before we see any of them. I don't see many people jumping ship for any of those, except for maybe the Bionic because of dual core (HDMI, larger battery, DDR2 RAM, etc.).

if it's going to be awhile I'm going to ebay a droid incredible. Was thinking droid pro but I think the incredible is better. Only problem is I want a phone that can be rooted like my droid 1 is.

Whoever keeps posting "Verizon loves Thursdays," here is what he's talking about:

Motorola Droid: Friday, November 6, 2009
Motorola Droid X: Thursday, July 15, 2010
Motorola Droid 2: Thursday, August 12, 2010
Samsung Fascinate: Thursday, September 9, 2010
HTC Droid Incredible: Thursday, April 29, 2010
Motorola Droid Pro: Tuesday, November 9, 2010

I see the 17th and 24th as the most likely canidates. I really hope it's the 17th.

I was informed yesterday by a fellow agent and Rep that the Thunderbolt MAY be a BestBuy exclusive phone. Which means the Verizon stores will not carry the phone.

Also, indirect stores, will not be carrying the iPhone, as apple only wants corporate and premium retailers to be able to sale the phone. And indirect stores will not be able to assist people with the iPhone.

I know the iPhone topic was really off. But figured I would let you know the scoop.

How do I know? I work for Verizon as an agent, so this is new information to us. And if its already been posted, sorry.
