RUMOR: HTC Thunderbolt Comes With Free 4G Hot Spot Feature | Android Phone Fans

I dont give a rats *** about skype. I pre-ordered it so that I would have a new phone the 14th. I am really pissed about this.

Maybe somebody else does. If they ship it with all the features not working, you know others are going to complain and moan all over the boards.

Verizon has said every time when asked, the phone will be release for sale in Q1, that gives them until March 31. If and only if they do not hit their announced target date should they be expected to give any explanation. As far as Verizon is concerned they are going to meet their stated target date.

FWIW, I was at the BB in Downer's Grove IL on Monday and I was told they were expecting the phones on the 17th and there were 4 who had pre-ordered. Since BB won't honor the early new every 2 date that the VZW store has offered me, I cannot take advantage of it.

I honestly cannot believe how worked up people are getting over a cell phone. "verizon owes us an explanation", no actually they don't.

It will be released when it is released, and I fully expect them to hit their announced target date.

Of course now that I have seen the specs of the D3, I'm up in the air yet again.

That has to be a software issue which can be patched. The BB forms apparently say that they expire the 16th so they wasted everyones time pre-ordering if they come out anytime after.

By target date do you mean the 14th like most of us were told when we pre-ordered? Or do yo mean Q1 because that is not a date at all.

I don't care what DroidLife has, I'm sticking with the 14th, no way all those BB people can say the 14th then it gets delayed magically for like no reason. Besides, the Droid X and Incredible had to wait for an OTA update before they got 3G Mobile Hotspot, so since when is Verizon aiming for perfection?

And if you ask me, that thing on DroidLife can be easily BS'd, just the way the thing is typed out, what with the red and black color text...

But then you have to ask, why is Verizon being silent, the phone will *supposedly* come out in less than a week! Well the iPhone 4 guys, you know how Apple is, they probably made Verizon shut up about everything else until the 10th.

Now for all you die-hard HTC fans out there, there are plenty of Desire Z ports for the Incredible, bringing a somewhat functional htcsense.com to your fingertips, try Uber Z or Super Z. Now don't get me wrong, still get the TB, but this way you can experience Sense 2.0 as sort of like a preview while we all wait until Monday.

Bb told you Feb 14. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Verizon hasn't once stated any date.

Also when I went to my Bb the guy told me they didn't have a release date, but would be notified when if I put in a pre order.

JUST spoke with VZW by dialing 611 - spoke to a rep...I asked "Can I get some info on the thunderbolt?" He said "let me pull up that in my system for you." He then went on to tell me that as of RIGHT NOW, his system says it will go on sale 2/14. I asked him if that was just at best buy, and he replied "you can buy it at both Best Buy and through Verizon on that date."

Sooooo, I don't know what to think lol

I did the same as you after reading your post. Took me a while to get through the automated messaging and picked up off hold, but after some time I got a female rep named Alex.

I asked her for a release date for the HTC ThunderBolt and she said, "I don't believe we have any information on the phone yet, let me check." After a few moments she said "Yeah, it doesn't show up on my equipment, but when information is released it will be put up on our website at..."

So I don't know where your rep was getting their information from.....

I cannot believe I am this weak to have been sucked into this massive vortex of inhumanity!!! As you can see, I am a newbie, and the un-proud owner of a magnificent P.O.S. Blackberry Curve. Having done a good bit of research, I have determined the TB is the phone for me. Having never gone through anything like this before, I ask, has this happened in the past with other "imminent" phone releases? DX? dinc? etc? Just wondering if this madness has been going on for eons, or just now? :blackberry:

Look at this video YouTube - HTC ThunderBolt Review - Part 1 , in my opinion this phone isn't much of an improvement over the existing phones , actually it's worse in some areas .

It seems from the video that the Thunderbolt is much better at productivity/CPU stuff than other phones on the market but is pretty awful at games and GPU stuff. Honestly my original droid unrooted gets about the same FPS on some of the Quadrant graphics tests :icon_eek::icon_eek:

I'm still getting the Thunderbolt though. If I have time to play games any more complex than angry birds then I'll just use my PS3.:icon_ banana:

yea, the dinc was just like this - not as bad as this in my opinion though....there was also a craze like this over whether the nexus 1 was going to come to VZW, and when it would be released (which it never was).

Q1, Q2, March, February, February 14, February 24, February 28, crytpic tweets about it coming sooner than expected, Spanish language advertisements, unboxing videos, Best Buy tweets, preorders, Amazon listings... it goes on and on. Yes, I get it, we're a bunch of geeks following this stuff. Yes, I get that Verizon could care less about us with the overhyped iPhone coming along to warm their trousers. I get that nothing is official and - yes - I see your point: Verizon is awesome, we should respect them, how can us simpletons not understand Big Red's motivations. If you love Verizon so much, go marry it.

Part of the fun for us has been trying to "decipher" the release date of this phone, which at one point was presumably less than a week away. Now we have reason to believe it's been postponed indefinitely.

Do we DESERVE anything from Verizon? No, Verizon doesn't care about me, or you or any of us and no one expects a big, giant, megabillion dollar corporation to care - if they did, that would be crazytown. But that doesn't mean we don't have the right to be annoyed about it.

What I don't understand is why you have to be all Executive Board of Verizon on us about it? Geez, don't be such a buzzkill.

Well why would it be worse? The TB is the Incredible + larger screen + 4G LTE + Sense 2.0 + Kickstand + next gen SnapDragon + 256mb more RAM + front facing camera. Who wouldn't want this phone?!

The iPhone is great for a lot of people. It's simple to use, it's heavily marketed and people think it "looks pretty." It also has extensive app support, including plenty of virtual farting. It also makes a ton of money, can be easily sold to people who don't even have any use for a smartphone and doesn't even need marketing considering the media hype that surrounds it.

It's refreshing to not be like that
