Did I say I told ya so yet?

It would've been foolish of Verizon to release the TB within 14 days of iPhone and have them possibly cannibalize each others sales. I mean, if the TB came out the same week as iPhone, the TB would definitely be a bust, and Verizons 4g launch would be hurt somewhat. By spacing them, both products will sell.

I really think some people are over-estimating the demand for the TB though. The Bionic will be the first LTE phone that sells well, simply because of the "droid" branding.

I totally agree with this statement. People around me are raving that they are going to get the Bionic and have no clue what the Thunderbolt is.

I think this will sell pretty well. HTC has made a name for itself and countless people who want "the HTC phones ". Funny they never know the names, but seriously want them. Lol.

Vzw is smart and knows many people will return the fruit if the tbolt hits too soon. Plus the atrix is set for a march 6th release date.

VZW doesn't want the iphone return rate to go up so its a 14 day period from the iphone release date.

Now having said that I will pre order the atrix and the bolt!

I'm pre-ordering tomorrow. I just wanna lock the sucker in.

I honestly don't care if it comes out until the end of the month. My daughter on the other hand will be disappointed as she's getting my D1 out of it.

Well, they aren't worried about people returning the iPhone per se... they are worried that people would just keep paying the restocking fee and keep getting a new phone every two weeks. You won't see verizon release ANY phones within 14 days of another phone at the same price point. (If they both costs 600-650)

Hopefully the iPhone destroys all TB sales, then Verizon might bundle free wifi hotspots and BoGa with it like they did for the Palms when their time was up!!!

Honestly, why should VZW care at all about anything Android now? They have the iPhone like they always wanted, it's exceeding pre-order expectations already...

If I was an old fart VZW executive, I'd say "Why bother with Android?" and dump it altogether and focus solely on the iPhone.

I mean, this is how the wireless companies operate right?

you can only do one return. it is not possible to keep doing a new one every 2 weeks and simply pay the restocking fee. they are not stupid, as you would have to be to allow that.

All companies operate for profit. But, they must continue to support android as well as iOS. Android devices come out every month, and offer things like LTE long before iOS. To not have some android devices would be giving up on "test markets". Plus, I'm sure VZW marks up and makes more profit from each android device sold, than they will from iPhone, simply because Apple takes most of the $ for the actual sale.

The "Droid" line is a hit line-up, the only phones that the Verizon iPhone truly threatens are Verizon's non-"droid" Android devices, and WinMo7 on every network.

"Droid" will survive and always be popular for the same reason the iPhone will. Ads.

AT&T is going to be in really bad shape...
