I have a an HTC Eris through VZW that i purchased and was a preowned device and already was loaded with 2.1. I am looking to root the device and remove some of the preinstalled applications. From what ive seen online on other sites i have to go back to the origional OS of 1.6 or 1.6 than i can root the device correctly. Does anyone know if this can be done or can i root it the way it is with 2.1 currently on it to remove the preinstalled junk??
