How turn off dock insert sound when putting X2 in dock?

Can't find a way to turn off the sound that occurs when the X2 is inserted into the multimedia charging dock.

What I've checked so far:

- There is no setting in the stock dock app
- Changing to another dock app didn't suppress the sound
- There is no setting in Settings>Sounds for this
- Can't find a setting anywhere else...

Really appreciate it if someone has figured this out and can share the info. :)

Hello is your phone rooted?

I've seen you suggesting the app "NoDock" to other users experiencing this problem. Have you tried NoDock and does it work for your Droid X2?

From what I see in other forums, you will have to wait for a fix from Moto. However, what works for me is to put the phone in vibrate mode when docking. This is useful at night and your alarm still is audible. I use silent toggle widget to get the phone into vibrate mode. Media applications still work as well when docked in vibrate mode.

When I first read this thread, I said "Huh?"
Then I always but my phone on silent when I put it in the dock, so I don't get woken up with a phone call or email delivery.

For me it's not a deal breaker and I found a work around by accident but
how does this get buy in testing?
Someone at sometime had to put a charged phone is a dock
just to see if it fit. They didn't notice the notification alarm?

I was digging around the system audio files and noticed two ogg files in /system/media/audio/ui called dock and unlock. I renamed these to ogg.bak and will see if the dock sound has been removed. Also the camera and camcorder sounds are located here too.

According to the update list, the new Gingerbread update will eliminate that sound
