How can I standardize all my phone numbers on my Droid/Google Contacts to have the same format? Right now, I have numbers that are formatted in many different ways:

123-456-7890
1234567890
(123) 456-7890

Is there an app or a software out there that would just standardize all these different formats as just one format?

I suppose you could export them from your Google contacts into MS Excellent and work with them there. It's probably a lot of work, though. I don't know of an app that would accomplish what you're wanting to do.

log into your gmail account on a computer and go into contacts and change them in there..its the fastest way and im pretty sure there isnt an app that will do that for you.

What's equally annoying is that the Facebook contact details are locked down, so people who have their phone numbers in Facebook as 1234567890 can't be changed. I like to have all of my numbers in the +1 (234) 567-8901 format, and Facebook contacts really screw that up.

Only if you consider right-clicking on a column and selecting Format Cells->Special->Phone Number "a lot of work". :D

Dear all
i just bought a new samsung (galaxy 2 s) and faced the problem of the phone numbers format and having to deal with the DASH issue. by the way, i live outside the USA so the format 037-482-16 came up whenever i wanted to call or save 03748216. i switched the language in the phone settings to English UK instead of English US and it worked. the only hassle is that i had to go to my gmail contacts and fix the numbers format that were transformed to the US format.

Hi,

You can also try this website : Face2Card
The beta version allows you to standardize your contacts name and phone number. Optionnally, you can update Google contact picture and job position with Facebook and LinkedIn sources.

Hope it will help you.
