How to fully restore phone?

When Froyo comes out, I want to fully restore my Droid's recovery image and go back to stock, including unrooting it. I'm sure some of this is unnecessary, but I want a completely unadulterated factory image of the phone before I run OTA Froyo update. Also I want to know how to do it should I need to send the phone in for warranty coverage...

How would I do this on the Motorola Droid?

Wouldn't you just be able to do a nondroid restore to the unrooted backup ??

you could but that wont bring you back to brand spankin' new like an sbf flash will, also AFAIK flashing an unrooted backup will still have a custom recovery.
