restore phone

I have a Droid with 2.2 FRG22D 2.6.32.9-g874c292.
I have photos in my gallery that I want to get rid of. I have tried to locate them on my PC via usb and NO luck. I dont get a delete option when viewing from gallery.
I think I need to restore phone to the way I got it out of the box.

Do I need to do anything before I "restore" and how do I restore it??

everything from my photobucket acct. too much for my phone.

will a reset lose the 2.2 or will it stay there.

Also I am NOT rooted. will that still work?

well if theyre backed up on ur photobucket acct then they are fine

and you posted in RS so i thought you were rooted. go into settings>privacy>factory reset

sorry didnt know RS was for rooted only....... i'm not sure if i wanna root, been reading alot but some of the verbage is over my head. will keep reading and maybe some day.
