How to disable stock messaging app?

I have been using Handcent for my messaging. Problem is I get 2 message notifications, every time i get a text and its starting to get annoying. I have handcent as my default messaging app, do I simply have to uninstall the stock messenger app?

Hahaha, I feel kinda dumb now. With so many people running around with the red Android, I didn't notice it was the same person.

If it makes you feel any better I have been feeling stupid all day... must be due to the first Monday back after the Holiday vacation !!!
