How to delete numbers from favorites

I have a Razr Max with ICS update, I noticed when I open phone, there are three heading, dialer, recent and favorites.

Under recent, I can delete a called number by holding the number and touch remove from list, but how do I also remove from favorites.

Open the contact and touch the star in the upper right hand corner and that should take them out of the list. It worked for me.
