How to delete all contacts at once on phone?

Can't figure it out for the life of me.

I want to delete ALL contacts from phone at once and then resync with gmail.

bump, I would like to know this as well. it brought in all of my facebook contacts without asking and now I have way more than I wanted there.

Do a factory data reset. I assume you are preparing to sell the phone or have some other reason for this.

Your other method would be to go on line and delete them out of gmail. That would take some time if you have a lot of contacts.

It seems you want to resync, not delete them from gmail. I think you can go into settings, applications, manage applications. Then menu, filter and select all. Then go to contacts and hit "Clear data". I think I have done this before, and it clears the contacts from the phone but not from gmail. But you might want to wait and here from someone with more experience at this than I have.

Edit: I just noticed this was for the Droid X, I have a Droid 1, so don't know if it's the same

I am not selling the phone. I simply didn't want all my facebook contacts brought onto my phone. It did that in the background without me knowing. I have found a way to filter based on linked services. That hides all my Facebook and only show me my google contacts. I think this is the best method for now. Just so everyone knows, I just got my phone last night and haven't had a chance to play with it yet. I was searching here for quick answers to some simple questions. thanks to those that replied.
