How sturdy is standard Droid X battery cover?

I'm wanting to get a spare standard battery to keep on hand. My only concern is how sturdy is the clip that holds the battery door on the phone? I see it's just a small plastic tab. My Concerned that if I swap batteries back and forth the door clip will break off or become ineffective.

This is certainly a possibility. You might want to consider a case that can give you extra support for the battery door.

Will not the new spare battery come with an additional battery cover?

Some do. But most do not. Its just the battery. Besides I don't want to go though covers one every few weeks or months. Probably just put the phone in my dock more often keep it charged.
