How "old" or outdated is the Nexus S technology compared to newer stuff like the TB?

I'm curious how far behind the times I would be if I went with T-Mobile and the Nexus S for my first Smartphone. I like that I'll be on stock Android, and T-Mo has the best prices for me. I hear that it doesn't have an SD slot, but I can live with 16GB, I don't plan on keeping movies on this or anything. What about the processor, screen and other elements?
