Well for one.. VANILLA ANDROID. I love my Droid and will probably hold on to it for a LONG time even though better handsets come out. Reason is quite simple. I hate custom UIs like Sense, MotoBlur, Sony's abomination and Samsungs abortion. I'm not the only one that has this opinion either.

Nice^ Im still shopping before I join the droid community. Right now from what I have seen though research I am leaning towards the moto droid although I can get the Inc for the same price...

Why not just buy a vanilla android phone in the first place? Doesn't make since to buy a phone that has a custom UI, only to root it to turn it off, when there are other choices.
