How limited are we with the 256MB for Apps?

it actually holds quite a bit of apps. Also i think you could back up the apps to your SD card

I have a TON of apps and space really isn't an issue.

Lots meaning on the Storm, 8 apps was pushing it. On the Droid, I have around 25 and still have room to spare. I wouldn't worry too much.

Why? Most Alps are kb in size, and the larger ones store data on the SD.

I have 37 installed Apps and still have 185Mb available...

To me if I got limited, I'd pull a few least used and replace.

Newer Apps may get written to load to and run from the SD, or at least a smaller stub in main memory.

Not an issue IMO

Thanks for the real-life example. I always look for user specs as a more accurate reading than adverts.

16gb of external storage on the SD.

You can always backup the apps to SD and swap them out if you run out of space. Sooner or later an application for AppsToSD will come out and we can hopefully run the programs from the SD card instead of just swapping.

Oh and apps and games can install the bulk of the data on the actual SD card if they want to allow for more space while the main file runs from the internal storage.

The only concern is those games that need more space. Some of the better games on the iPhone for example use up to 1Gb of space for just the game.
