How does the Official Droid X Car Mount charge the phone?

Question. Do you have to remove whatever protective skin you have on your unit in order for it to fit into the cradle? You do have to remove the skin for the home cradle. That's not bad at home, but would be a pain if you had to do it everytime you got into your car.

It would depend on what skin you have. I have the holster combo from Verizon and I have to remove it before docking. There is an insert that comes out to allow a thin case, but I don't know which ones works with it. Maybe someone here call fill you in on that.

Thanks. I also have the holster combo. Like it, but don't like taking the skin off every night and for sure wouldn't want to do it every time I got into my car. Oh well, something for the aftermarket designers to think about next time they design docking stations.
