How do you store pics on razr maxx

Hi everyone,

I switched to the razr maxx because my htc incredible kept dying on me every few hours. Other than the battery I loved my droid incredible.
I am not a geek just an ordinary person trying to figure out a smartphone and I feel very inadequate when dealing with the razr maxx.

I am regretting the switch. I find the razr maxx to be not at all user friendly esp when trying to make calls from recent nos, texting( the font is too small).

when using the camera, I cant seem to find where my pics are being stored and the picture quality sucks when compared to the incredible.

Could some one help me to store my pics on the phone? I cant find an option for local phone storage or maybe I dont know where to look.

Thanks in advance for any help.

I have found with the ICS update, the easiest way to find pictures is to click on the far left button on the bottom of the phone (menu) and go to System settings, then click on Storage, and then click on Pictures/videos, and then complete the action using My Gallery. All of the pictures you have taken should be in the My Gallery.

If you want to make this easily accessable with one click, click on your Apps button (not on the bottom of the phone, but the actual screen now) with the Apps, scroll over to My Gallery, Long Press it and move it to one of your screens where you can access your picture gallery.

I think the picture quality leaves much to be desired, but hopefully this information helps you locate your pictures you have been taking.

Welcome to the forums!

You can change the font size in the display options, that might help you read it better.

Also I recommend downloading and use QuickPic from the Play Store, much better browser for all of your pictures and videos.

If you are within your 14 days, you could switch the Maxx for the Rezound with extended battery. My son has the rezound and it is an excellent phone. I love my Maxx but the rezound comes at a very close second, if not equal.

@aggiesrul8,
Thank you for the tips. I could not find Pics and Videos in Storage, so I moved MY Gallery to my screen and can access my pics easily.

@Sydman,
I could not find any Font option in my display Settings. I will try out QuickPic, Thanks.

@TisMyDroid,
Sadly a month has gone by since I got my Razzr Maxx, so I cannot exchange it.

Well, I guarantee you will fall in love with your Maxx. Some things work a little different. For taking pictures, try a few apps that might do better than the stock camera. The Maxx's camera is capable, just not always with the stock camera app (although I haven't tried it much since ICS). HDR camera is great for scenic outdoor shots. Camera ICS and Camera Zoom FX are great for people-action shots. Photo editor is a great editing tool.

If you have any questions, just ask. There is a whole world here with a lot of great ideas and great answers.

Have fun!

DROID RAZR MAXXIMIZED!!!! PREPARE TO BE VANQUISHED!!!

To find your pics, go into your app tray, my files, SD card, dcim , camera. That's where your camera pics are stored :)

They are being stored on the sd card and not the sd-ext that we have become used to on our old phones. What you need to do if you want to use the old method is go into the camera app, hit the settings button on the far left, scroll down to storage location (or something like that) change that setting from sd card to internal memory. Now the pictures taken with your camera with accessible in the sd-ext (internal memory) in the DCIM folder and can be changed with file apps such as Astro. If you don't want to go through that process your pictures can be found with the "My Files" app that came preinstalled under sd card, you can manually move to internal storage from there. Hope this helps,!

Think I got it now. Thanks.
Have another question. I just downloaded a pic and when I went to view it, it said, UNABLE TO LOAD SELECTED PHOTO. Can you tell me how to corect his issue? thanks.

Just for reference because it can get confusing:

On the stock "My Files"

*SD card: refers to your removable sd card.
*Internal Phone Storage: refers to your internal memory card

On most file explorer apps:

*sdcard-ext: refers to your removable sd card.
* sdcard: refers to your internal memory card.

My mistake, thanks for clearing that up. I was in the right direction but my definitions were a bit off. Coming from a rooted D1. It's like learning all over again on this Maxx.
