How do I stop the FB notifications from popping up on top of phone (taskbar?)

It is driving me nuts, I'm getting notifications from people that I have even put on my ignore list!!!!
Help!!!!!!!!!!!!!

open facebook on your phone go to settings and turn off the notifications

If I do that will I still get notifications on facebook itself, like a message or friend request?

yeah i believe it just stops them from going into the task bar....but when you go on FB yourself im sure you will see everything
