How do i get rid of the Aim Symbol

I have the Motorola Droid and i have dled the aim app from the market. And there is this aim symbol on the top of the home screen on the top where the notifications show up that says tap here to change your status. Is there a way to get rid of this?

go into the aim app, settings, diasble notifications

theres only sound and battery notifications though.

in aim....not in the system setting. I am talking about going into the app itself and the settings in there.

The status icon can't be disabled in that version of aim. A lot of people have sent emails requesting that they add the option to disable it. I really hope they do. Other than that its a great app.
