How Can I Root my Motorola Milestone 2.1-update1

Hi y'all,

I got a Motorola Milestone phone
Firmware: 2.1-update1
build number: SHOLS_U2_02.27.C

I've tried to root it but it crashed and got stuck on the M logo.

eventually I used RSDLite to flash the file:
SHOLS_U2_02.27.6_USASHLSMR2ISRLB1B8069.0R_PDS003_USASHLS00CELLIL_P017_A012_HWp2a_1FF.sbf
(the only .sbf file that worked, but the phone returned to his previous, factory version)

Can anyone help me with rooting this annoying phone and install some custom rom like Bugless Beast or CyanogenMod?

Okay, then you have a straight Milestone. The Alltel Milestone is a US-exclusive; it's just a rebadged Motorola Droid.

That link I gave you will get your Droid rooted and ROMed, eventually, with CyanogenMod modified to work on your hardware. Unfortunately you cannot install a Droid ROM on a Milestone. The Milestone has a bootloader similar to the Droid X/2/Pro/variants.

um.. ok, i'll try the link, thought it sais in the webpage that the version is
vulnerable_recovery_only_RAMDLD90_78.zip
i think i tried it already. should i "downgrade" first from the 2.1-update1 version.

Thank you very much for your help! :p
