Hotspot and Unlimited Data

If you've been grandfathered in to the unlimited data plan, do you still pay extra for using the hotspot functionality? I tried turning hotspot on, but didn't get any sort of warning about extra charges...

Yes you have to pay for it. Once you try to connect another device (a laptop)
for example you will be automatically be re-directed to verizons site and be told you need to subscribe for the hot spot functionality which is $20 a month for 2 gigs of data. At least that is the amount for 3g phones. I believe that if you have a 4g phone the charge is $30 a month but the data usage is unlimited.
