Huawei is one of the fastest growing OEMs in the world right now. They have been making lots of headway globally with devices like the Nexus 6P, Mate 9 and now their Honor series in the US. They also released one of the most revered midranger devices of last year with the Honor 8. Many people liked the form factor and experience enough to replace their high end flagship phones. The device features a premium all metal and glass build, high end dual camera setup, and some unique features like a programmable fingerprint sensor. The phone released with Marshmallow, but Huawei promised they would have Nougat for the device in no time.

They have just made good on that promise. The Nougat update brings EMUI 5 to the device and began rolling out today February 11. The update also fixes one of the major complaints about this device, no app drawer. The addition of the app drawer makes this feel less iOSy and allows users to better organize their homescreens. This update will also fix a slew of bugs that were present in EMUI 4.1 which is always a plus. You should be receiving a notification to get the update downloading soon. If not you can check for updates in settings.
