Holster Car Dock issue

Everytime I put my phone in my side holster, It turns on the car dock app. Even if I lock the phone before hand, it still opens. How do I stop it from happening?

You may have a magnet in the holster. Is it one of those that has a flap that locks closed with a magnet? If so, that is probably it.

I'm having the same problem. Not sure I can really call it a problem though. It doesn't seem to be draining the battery or anything like that.

It does have a magnetic flap. Never thought about that causing the problem. I'll try another holster and see if that fixes it. The biggest problem is that the phone won't lock in my holster and dials random people from time to time. Thanks for the advice.

Yes, the magnet will set off the car dock, or the media dock, depending on polarity. Try facing the phone's back away from the magnet. Most case magnets are too strong for the X, and will activate the dock. There are apps out in the market that disable the dock.

how to stop automatic car dock app with holster

I still can't find a way to turn of the auto start function on my droid x while putting it back into my holster. I know there is a magnet thing happening, but isn't there a way to turn it off? I don't even use the car dock function. None of the apps in the market seem to work......

Try NODOCK (root). It makes it so your DROID no longer responds to magnets. You have to be rooted to use it. They have a free 7-day trial so you can figure out if it solves your issues.
