one of my issues with the x was that with gps on the battery would drain even while on the car dock. For some reason I never tonight the car dock itself could be the problem (how difficult could it be to shunt the power over 2 inches?) last night I was down to 10% battery tossed the phone on the dock turned on gps and....phone dies. keep in mind this was while on the dock. Happened once more. I got fed up and plugged directly into the phone....worked like a champ got home with 20% battery to boot.
Car dock is the problem.
