Hiding unused icons

Just purchased droid 2 with froyo, is there a way with the native home software that you can hide icons? I am able to do it with pandahome, but i kind of like the native home software.
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

You can do it with Launcher Pro and it can be customized to mirror stock very easily


As far as doing it without a third party launcher...I don't think it's possible
