Help?

I have lately been having reboot issues with my bionic. During txt messages it will freeze up then reboot. It happens about 5+ times a day. Does anyone have any fixes? Also my keyboard (the stock one) has issues with randomly inserting letters and closing on me.

I had the same problem awhile back, try rebooting without sim card then with card, kind of a reset of radios and such I believe. Worked for me. I leave the sd card out aswell.

You may need to do a FDR if the other suggestion doesn't work . You will loose data and apps though so you might want to do a backup of app data, etc. prior ...just don't restore system data.

Are you on gingerbread os still? And are you on the latest update, 5.9.905? If so, you may think about flashing an ics leak. And while there are many out there to choose from, I suggest you go with 232. I had those same issues on gb. And though they were few and far between, Ics has stopped them completely. And, I never have data drops anymore. I can help you out if you would like. Just send me a pm.

I don't believe this is a data drop issue -

I would rule out hardware before suggesting a flash, especially with the OTA ICS jsut around the corner- hopefully.... In any case, I would boot into safe mode and operate for a bit. With the keyboard issue, I would tend to think a possible hardware problem with the touch screen. If you still have issues in safe mode, I would take it in for a swap.

What's the harm in flashing 232? If it works, great! And when the official version hits, just fxz back to 905 and take the ota. Until then, you'll be running 232 which is solid and cures these problems for almost everyone that has flashed it. If for some reason you still have the same problems on 232, fxz back to 905. No harm in giving it a try.

Okay I booted it up today without the sim and sd card. It seems pretty stable for now...if it does it again ill try safe mode to see if any apps could be the problem. I am still im 5.5.905 and rooted. I have tried flashing .232 when it first came out but I was unsuccessful due to my prior install of safestrap. I saw the thread about the fxz back to stock but im not exactly sure how that works.

Booting into safe mode only takes a couple minutes to try. It's a potentially quick answer. As for flashing, I have no problem with it, I've done plenty myself- I just like to take hardware and 3rd party issues out of the equation, because if it's hardware, no sense in trying to fix it with firmware. No sense in investing the time on a flash if you just have to start over anyway.

If no one has helped you out yet, you need to uninstall safestrap, restart your phone. Put .232 on external SD, restart phone in STOCK RECOVERY, then install update, pick .232 from SD card and install it. Very simple. First boot takes longer than expected but it's normal. Can NOT be installed through safestrap that I know of because its an official flash update.
