First time post Bionic touch screen

I turned in my orginal droid for the Bionic. I have been having issues with the touch screen. It will select apps or type letters at random. I noticed it does it worse while pluged in. I do have an otter box case on it. I did try it without the case and it was better. I was woundering if anyone else was having this problem? Thanks

Yeah, I had the same issue while the phone was plugged in. I would touch an e-mail in gmail, but it would select an e-mail way down the list. When typing, letters would just randomly be put in.

When I unplugged the phone from the charger, it appears to work fine.

Is this a bug, or some type of defect where it needs to be returned?

Turn the phone off
Pull the battery
Press and HOLD the power button for at least 10 seconds
Reseat the battery and replace the cover
Power the phone up
Wait for the Preparing SD Card icon to go away

then test it again

Use a paint program and see if any parts of the screen don't register paint

When I first started charging the phone it was fine. Only seemed to do it once the phone was close to and at full charge

I have also seen this behavior with non-original chargers. For those with the problem, are you using the new charger that came with the phone?

I think the problem might have been my charger. I plugged my phone into my old one from my droid2 and it quit. Now it isn't doing it in the new one either. Weird. They should be the exact same charger right?

I will try it again tomorrow at work. I had it in a brand new dock. I tend to use it while it's in the dock. I had no clue what it was doing, it was typing all sorts of random crap. I did do a hard reset like you all have explained. I'll see if the problem clears up tomorrow. I hope it does, and I hope it's just a charger or something strange like that.

You didn't mention it so I'm guessing you don't have one but this same thing happened to me when I put a screen protector on my mom's Droid 2. Took it off and it stopped.
