aight just need some quick help with some small things. im trying to help my bro out with his phone. only in town for bout another week and just wanted to root and install a recovery program. then i was wanting to unthrottle his 3g for him since he uses it to tether to everything. i found petes root tools and didnt see anything about bootstrap or safestrap for the droid 3. just curious if yall could help me out on this. thanks

Those are all the links I would have given you. I've not "unthrottled" my tether, tbh, as I have no idea what you are referring to, but if you mean bypassing Verizon's page, you can use the app FoxFi, available in the Play Store.

not to untrottle his tethering just to untrottle his 3g data. after you use so much of data even though its unlimited verizon slows down your speeds. i did an untrottle on my DX when i had but didnt know if there was one for the D3
