Help on RAZR call volume

My wife and others are complaining they cannot hear me when I am in a call with them. This has been with different callers not just one phone. Is this a known issue. Its also a problem with my car sync. Same low output for people that I call
Thanks for any help. I just dumped the Bionic for the RAZR. Usually cell phones are not an issue. The Bionic and RAZR seem to be.
