Okay so this is what's going on I have a 2 line contract and the other person owed too much money on his part and I can't hey a hold of him and the contract is under my name :( and the balance total is $986!! So I was wondering since the contract is under my name and i cant pay that what if before the due day I open another new contract for Verizon hey a new droid then just let the current contract die :( I know its duncan bit honestly I'm a college student and I'm getting ripped off becuade of the other person ripped me off :( I will pay it as soon as I raise the money but my question is can I open a solo line contract with version while I have this contract opened :(?

most likely you wont be able to open a new account with a delinquent account. have you froze the other line or is it still active?

Its still active right now and I barely received the notification on the bill and that's what came up the only thing I guess I can do is that I can try to negotiate something with Verizon and convince a friend to open it under his name hmm :(

Pay the bill and take it as a lesson learned.

Never allow "friends" on an account in your name or Co-sign for a friend.....

Are you going to let a cell phone bill ruin your credit?

Lesson learned and I finally got a hold of the dude I can't pay all that money on my own because from those 986 dollars I only have to pay 100 on my part but I talked to the dude and the remaining balance on account would be 286 indont know if Verizon will negotiate with me

What are you expecting Verizon to do for you? The contract you have with them is between you and them, not you, your friend and them. You took on this extra line. I know it is rough being a college student and that you were probably just trying to help a friend and all but don't expect Verizon to negotiate any sort of deal with you regardless of how you let the bill get to $900+. I would turn off that second line ASAP. If you friend isn't will to help you pay then why let him/her continue to use the phone for free? Switch the line to a "test line" pay the $10 bucks a month for the added line and let the contract run out. Who knows, you might be able to use the "New Every 2" on that second line and get a new phone in the near future before Verizon stops that program.

Did you shut off the added lines phone?

I would have them shut the phone off then just put a dumb phone on that line.
