Help me out.

Just started reading a few weeks ago and after rooting I'm bombarded with custom roms, Gingerbread, rooted and deodexed, and after another week even that's old news. Man you guys move fast. Just a lot to take in and I know I want to flash something, I just don't know what. I know it comes down to personal preference but maybe someone could lead me in the right direction. I absorbed all the info pretty much except "deodexed", I just need to put something into action.

don't know much about deodexing, but there are plenty of posts with the needed info.
as far as which rom to flash, I really like liberty. I had 1.5 for awhile and now have 2.0. it's very nice, with plenty of themes easily downloadable directly from its toolbox.
if you're thinking about flashing gingerbread, you might first read the important discussion ongoing now at mydroidworld forum titled "some food for thought."

Deodexing removes the odex files and allows form easy editing of apks. Its mainly for theming purposes.
