HELP! I want my Gingerbread back...

I have been told by a few friends that the people on this forum who know their business and can help me. I don't own a Motorola but I'm hoping someone has a solution that a techno-moron can use to fix this.

First, let me explain that I am new to forums and recent to Android. My phone is awesome but still VERY basic. I love it so much that I decided to extend myself a bit for Christmas and buy a highly discounted EVO VIEW 4G tablet from eBay. My phone is HTC and I think it's great so I figured I'd stick with what I know and get their tab. My kids needed something to do on longer car drives and like most people, they're partial to Angry Birds and Stupid Zombies. Anyway, I opened the box and turned it on and it was everything I was hoping. I loved it at first touch. The kids were thrilled and I couldn't have been happier with a Christmas gift purchase. I figured I'd start off on the right foot and check and see if there were any updates (like my computer does right?) After about 45 minutes of chugging away on my wireless network my device booted back up and thats when my misery started. My tablet that I had only played with for 30 minutes and fell in love with (because of the fimiliarity with my phone I'm sure) was now totally different. Its no longer easy to use and intuitive to me and I think the "upgrade" sucks and has ruined my purchase... :(

Can someone help me get this tablet back to the way it was out of the box when I liked it and it seemed better to me? I'm sure with time I will get used to how it is now but I hate change and don't wanna lean something new just to pick up my phone and do it differently. Please keep in mind with any help or solution provided that I know nothing about how these things work. The good rule of thumb would be to "draw it in crayon" for me. Thanks in advance to anyone that can come to my rescue. :hail:

I have no experience with tabs so I don't want to point you in the wrong direction, but don't lose hope! The users of this forum are great. If you can't get an answer i'm sure someone can point you in the right direction. Good luck!

You probably got the update to Android 3.0, or "Honeycomb."
The Evo View 4G was released on Android 2.3 "Gingerbread." This version of the operating system is mainly used for phones, whereas 3.0 is used for Tablets. It's sort of like 32 bit and 64 bit versions of windows. Let's say you have a laptop with a single core processor, and a desktop with a quad core processor. A 32 bit version of windows that only supports one processor core would not make any sense to have because it's not using the full power of your computer. The 64 bit version of windows is made to support more than one core, so it would utilize all 4 cores of the desktop computer. This is a similar case with Android. 2.3 is not made to utilize all of the power, and multimedia a tablet has. But 3.0 is. I'm sure once you get used to it, you will end up loving it again. Would you mind checking in Settings>about phone>software, for the version number so I can make sure that it's honeycomb?
That may not be the correct location of the version number, I'll turn my tablet on and check.

Edit: From your tablet go to settings>about tablet> and on the right side it should say Android version. Can you please post that?
