HELP Desperately Needed with Boot Animation & SO MUCH MORE!! I'm DROWNING!

I hope someone can answer my question or problem because this is what I'm having problems with. All I want is some way to change my boot animation and after reading tutorial after tutorial, now I'm left with tons of bootanimation.zip files all over my phone and sd card, not knowing which is which, and what needs to be deleted. I'm so far up *the creek with programs now, I don't know what I have and how to use what "tool". I have a DX 2.3.3 gb android blur. I have installed droid x bootstrapper (don't know how to work it, only 2 options showing to click, bootstrap recovery & reboot recovery), ROM Manager (don't know how to work it, what it does, or well nothing about it, but every tutorial says something about needing it), bootanimation utility (doesn't work to what I want to do), Root explorer (so many unk files on my phone I wish I could just clean them all up, but I want to keep my applications that I do know), obviously have superuser, titanium backup (i know it's helpful on putting my apps back on that i lose when i have to factory reset my phone, but that's all).

Can someone please help me by;

1) cleaning up my phone from unused phone files etc.
2) explaining what droid x bootstrapper does and how to use it, same goes for ROM manager (i have no ROM's, just motorolla blur what comes with gb 2.3.3. v .605).
3) I am a newb, and the only thing I want to do with my droid is to personalize simple things, boot animations, boot logos, maybe a theme here and there, or a way a transition between menus looks.

Please tell me what I need or can do for #3 to happen!!

For the boot logo, search for Shibley's boot logo generator: http://www.droidforums.net/forum/droid-labs/146240-boot-logo-generator.html

As far as the boot animation, on the D1, you would put it in /data/local

The animations would be changed with a metamorph. I don't have a link for that.

OK so will metamorh work with any theme because I do have metamorph.

I have the Droid x not the droid1. When I found an animation I liked I renamed it bootanimation.zip and copied it to the /system/media and the /data/local file locations and still getting a black screen when rebooting.

Metamoroh will work on any rooted phone/theme.

If you want to theme adw, then look for those themes. Metamorph changes status bar icons, system icons and screen animations. Take a look at droidpirate.com for some metamorphs. Just make sure to use the ones for whatever rom you're on. Like Froyo or Gingerbread. And make a backup, just in case.

I tried Root Tools, but I couldn't figure out how to put my own animation in, it only showed pre-installed (Root Tools) animations that it had in its program.

I found this thread while searching for boot animation answers, but I may have an answer to your questions about themes. I am using a rooted Droid X with GB .605. I am using "Go Launcher EX" on it and I really like some of the themes available for it. Many are free, some are not. Even the free ones are fairly nice. The nicest feature is that it's totally free and there are no ads. I also use "Go SMS" which is itself themeable, and free without ads.

AFAIK you don't need to be rooted to use either of these items.
