Hello and Root Questions

So, I'm new here because I just updated my DroidX and became frustrated because yet another app (Madden NFL 11) that I don't want was installed on my phone. I am very tempted to root my phone and get rid of all the native apps that I don't use.

Where is the most reliable thread in here for rooting a Droid X? I'd like to use the cleanest and most easily maintained method of rooting so I can at least keep my phone up to date.
