I have a Milestone X.

I bought a HDMI cable thinking I could watch TV and or online movies like Netflix....WRONG...

I guess all it is good for is pics and movies I have taken and saved onmy phone.

Is there a way to hook my phone to the TV so that I can watch things like Netflix on it?

hmmm haven't tried, as my phone isn't capable, but I thought it's just a mirror image of what is on the phone on your tv.

that's how it is on my xoom at least...don't have netflix though so can't try that

Use RealHDMI or Xternal Display from the market. The stupid thing is that the Droid X hardware can't handle displaying the picture on both the TV and the phone.
