Hotspot ?

I like to watch Netflix or use an app to watch TV or movies on my IPad and also stream pandora. The Internet where I work does not allow me to use those apps they are blocked. I normally use the hotspot on my phone to watch But I do not get the best signal and sometimes it cuts out. I have an iPhone that allows you to connect to a Wi-Fi And then use the hotspot but not using cellular data it uses the wifi you are connected to. In that configuration I am able to stream pandora or use netflix And I have the speed of the Wi-Fi so no cutting out. My question is can my work see I am streaming pandora or watching Netflix or does it just show up as data?
