so i bought the micro hdmi cable and when i try to use it it mirrors just fine. until i play the show. IE hulu+ i have sound but it says "hdmi output disabled" do i need the webtop mod to do this with out the dock? or what am i doing wrong?
Hah yeah wasted the $1 for a cable I suppose. Netflix seems to work fine over HDMI, and anything you get from the play store, too. I just stream from my home computer (whether I'm at home or not).
There is an app called X Display its for the DROID X but works on the BIONIC. I would see if someone has the apk for it and try it with HULU before you purchase it. But you run the app connect the HDMI cable and away you go. It bypasses the check and mirrors the display so the app doesn't know that it's being run through the HDMI port. Funny thing is I don't remember my DROID X having an HDMI port
For future reference: Amazon.com: micro hdmi HDMI Video Cables And to stream to my phone while I'm at home, I just share folders on my network and can browse to them in ES file explorer and open them like any other video file.
To stream to my phone while I'm away from home I use a program called Remote Potato and it's companion app called Remote Media Center. It works great for me because I have an HTPC set up with windows 7 media center DVRing shows, with all my blurays and music and stuff on the same computer.
For you I'd suggest that X display app that was mentioned earlier, though.
If my phone wouldn't die using it now, I used to just Moto/Zumocast to my phone across my mobile hotspot. I used to watch everything on my TV. Now my battery can't handle being used as a phone let alone "smart"phone.
Well google is telling me that nobody's found a workaround just yet. And it isn't looking promising for one, either. Does h+ give you browser access to the videos? You could try going to the webpage and watching the vids via the browser and not the app.
