I haven't and I keep getting the same message as you. I am also on Version 4.0.4 and everything is completely stock!!

Did you inadvertently delete any bloatware that you are not aware of?

Aye pm me and I can help you update manually. Not complicated, you can be stock (non rooted) or rooted, and it doesn't take that long.

Exactly. You should either see a message saying that your phone is up to date or there is an update available. If it says that the check for updates isn't available, then it isn't even looking for the update.
