Hard Reset?

What is the best way to get it to brand new out of box condition. Reminder: I probably have few apps on the sd, and I have an update.zip on the root I just dont remember what version it is.

also, what does that button above the battery do? I think it is a reset but i don't know exactly.

I'm not aware of any button behind the battery of the Droid. Best way to go about this is doing a factory reset or the more complicated process of using RSD Lite.

Also, no need to make another thread if you have one going with the same problem. No need to clutter the forum.
