Handscent and folder question??

I see where I can make a new folder, so I have icons saved in my gallery, I want to put in the folder , how do I do this??

The second item is Handscent, I see where people have different backgrounds themed on theirs? I know I can do the color different, which I have but I see people with actual background?
Hopefully somebody can help me out?

With Handcent go to settings-Custom Style-Conversation list settings and there will be a background option there.

For the folder use folder organizer and desktop visualizer. Both are free from the market.
