Handcent with Google Voice

I have noticed recently that If I send a TXT using google voice (from either the phone or the web page), that when the reply comes back to my phone, it is landing in hancent. At which time I can reply to the message from handcent and it will apparently still use google voice as the delivery mechanism. Which is great.

However, I am wondering how I can originate a TXT thread in handcent using google voice as the delivery mechanism.

Any thoughts?

You can't. You have to reply to an incoming message. Contacts aren't assigned to forwarding numbers until they send you a message.

Keep in mind that messages sent and received via Handcent will count against you. GV texts are only data if they are sent/received using the GV app. SMS forwarding and SMS notifications count as text messages.
