GPS HUD Dashboard

I haven't tried it out while driving to find out how well it works without being a distraction, but it sure makes playing airplane while walking around a lot of fun: ZP Dashboard - ADI - Android app on AppBrain

ZP Dashboard is the name, and they also have a pretty nifty compass that points out the location of the sun and moon too. I love free gizmos.

The programmer for ZP Dashboard, now has a "pay for" version called ZP Dashboard Pro. I don't know what's been added since I never used the freeware version, the commercial version is pretty cheap.

See all the available updates and apps at his blog:
App.Zero.Point

One feature I hope he adds to it is to be able to not only turn the camera on with the data superimposed, but to record the video with that on it. Mounted on a motorcycle would produce some spectacular video with speed, attitude, and heading recorded.

Slick!

Recording would be pretty sick. I came pretty close to drilling a hole for the camera in my windshield dock, but didn't. I enjoy it when I'm a passenger though :p

for some reason mine got erased when I uploaded 2.2 firmware, it's gone?
Wow, apparently it is. Another good reason to use Titanium Pro. Even though I use Swype mostly, I've got ShapeWriter backed up. You never know when things get pulled.

It might be a temporary glitch because the dev's website mentions releasing a new version that added support for the Galaxy S just last week:

App.Zero.Point

I've tried to post a number of times on Zero Point's blog site, but for some reason none show up.

Maybe one of you can try it, I was requesting the record function.
