GoogleVoice block on my vm?

Okay, so the subject line is confusing, and it's because I am confused. I got GV a couple days ago and started it up before I had a chance to clear out the two voicemails I had in my verizon box. Now the notification won't go away (little icon at the top) and I can't get into my verizon box to clear them out and make it go away. They obviously aren't in my GV box, so getting to them is basically impossible.

Now, do I have to uninstall GV in order to get my old VMs (which I know aren't important, most likely are hang-ups) and get rid of that stupid icon, or is there something I'm missing? :icon_eek:

TIA

i think you can go into google voice from googlevoice.com and turn off voicemail. then check your verizon voicemail. then turn it back on

Go to htp://www.google.com/voice

Deactivate your phone. (*71 I believe)

Retrieve your voicemails from the Verizon System

Reactivate your phone. (*72*[your GV Voice Number]# or something like that)
