Google Voice?

Can anyone help me out with what Google Voice is/does? Is it pre-installed on the Droid? Is it cool? Thanks in advance and sorry if this has been discussed before.

Just fill out the request for invite from Google and they will send you one.....unlike Wave.

You need to download the Google Voice app from Marketplace, but I am having a problem with it.
