Google Voice - VM question

When people call my GV number, they do not hear my GV recording, but my normal cell phone recording. I thought there was a way to have it where if someone called a GV # to your phone, it was to play your GV #, but if they dialed your cell #, it would play your provider/custom greeting.

Missing something here?

Your carrier's voicemail is picking up too quickly. Calls to your GV number will roll to GV voicemail after a certain number of rings. You'd need to call your carrier to have your ring time before voicemail extended.

I have the same problem with my voicemail at work but there's no way to adjust the number of rings at work so I just schedule GV to not forward calls to the office line after hours. While I'm in the office, it's not really a big deal.
