I don't know if anyone knows the answer. Obviously, Google has had Voip capabilities since they bought GrandCentral and created Google Voice, but even before then Google Voice has been able to do pc to pc calling. Technically you should be able to do that with a 3g or 4g phone. But why can't you? One answer for that $$$$$$$$. Verizon is doing everything they can to prevent such technology from being used on their smartphones. Why? Because who would buy minutes then? Just use your data plan to call with Skype or Google Voice/Talk, or whatever.
It is so incredibly pathetic that Skype is such a handicaped application on Android (most likely thanks to Verizon). I mean come on... We should be having Google Talk/Voice, Skype, and all the abilities that a PC has. But nope, Verizon wants their $$$$. Can't blame them, can you?
